Sloppy Joes

1/2 lb ground beef

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup katsup

1/2 tablespoon mustard

salt and pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon taco seasoning

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1/2 cup water

Brown meat and onion together then add remaining ingredients. Bring to boil then reduce to low and let simmer until thick, stirring occasionally.

This is just a basic recipe for the basic flavor of sloppy joe sauce. You can add more of this or that to your preference and more vegetables are always a good thing. I Made this one night when I wanted sloppy joes but I didn't have any canned sauce or sauce mix and no money or gas to go out and get some. So I started throwing things in until it tasted right with what I had on hand. I also made homemade hamburger buns and homemade french fries to go with it.
